A Missouri Corporation founded in 1987, Bordner is owned and operated by Sam Fleenor and Rob Poettgen in Raytown, MO. Sam and Rob are second generation owners with over 50 years of combined experience in the home improvement industry.
Where did the name Bordner come from?
Bordner Home Improvement was founded by Greg Bordner and Cliff Fleenor on a handshake in 1987. Cliff had a vision for creating a construction company that provided excellent service to their customers while allowing the Bordner team members to have life balance and develop skills that permeate all areas of their work, family and home.
Greg exited the business in 1989. His level of trust and admiration for Cliff’s character is best represented in his agreement to leave the “Bordner” name on the business. Cliff brought his two brothers, Bud and Charley, into the business and a 30 year partnership was born. When asked about the secret to doing business with family and being successful (let alone still liking each other) Bud attributes it to one thing – Humility.
The humble approach with which Cliff, Bud and Charley built Bordner Home Improvement lives on in the spirit and leadership of our business today thanks to the foundation created by the Fleenor brothers.
